E-Mail #33 New Music & Eavesdropping

Hiya blog reader,

It's me Ella again, serving up some more E-Mail based on my tastes from the first week of June 2019! This week has involved concerts, baking and eBay bidding on my end!

Let's dive in shall we?

Tweet of The Week

Just to preface this tweet...

okay then

So this feels a bit like cheating as it's a video AND a tweet but this is magnificent. Darren Criss, the darling musical theatre emmy winner hobbit is in a Taco Bell advert? And it's actually a creative advert? He sings about fries? Yeah

Here's the real TOTW

Good News

I have two tidbits of GN this week! The first is that planning for my trip in July is going really well and I'm really breaking down the wall of STUFF TO ORGANISE OR THE TRIP WILL FAIL in my mind.

The second is actually linked with Song Crush because Keane, my favourite band of all time, has released a song AND is touring in the late summer. hOW GOOD IS THAT.

Song Crush

A lot of the Keane music is very atmospheric and sad but this is a BOP AND I HAVE LISTENED TO IT A LOT IN THE PAST 12 HOURS. God I love it.

Book Babble

You may remember that I reviewed 'To All The Boys I Loved Before' a few weeks back, well, I've read the sequel and I have some opinions about it!

Sadly like most popular books leading onto a sequel that I've encountered, it's really difficult to one-up the original book. The plot of TATBILB is really unique and captured well in the Netflix adaptation. This book is a little....eh.....boring. I think that might be because I'm a 22 year old reading some YA but who knows. The character introduction is interesting and the plot in the middle of the book is exciting and I can't wait to see how it will be interpreted visually in the Netflix sequel but It's just not a book I loved reading? I wouldn't read it again. The characters and their motivations were pretty spot on, despite this I dislike how it ended and the choices the characters made.

I will read the threequel when it becomes available on my library app!

Video Corner

If you were big into UK Youtube maybe 4 years ago, you may recall Mr Daniel J Layton! Well, he's still making videos, if periodically. He's currently doing a creative challenge where you make a video every day in a month, a popular trend a few years back. Well in this VEDJ episode he enlists his friend Chloe to tell an eavesdropped story that is rather scandalous. The two have been friends for years and it's very easy to tell how in-sync they are and are a joy to watch. I would happily watch a series based just on eavesdropping.

---

That wraps it up this week. I'm really starting to count down the days till my departure in July, and I'm going to enlist some takeovers for the time I will be gone!

Have a good weekend fam, live it up!
