E-Mail #6 Boys & Tweets

Heya!

Holy heck we're onto the 6th installment of E-Mail! Very chuffed I've kept it going! This week has been pretty good too! I had a job interview yesterday which I'm feeling pretty good about! Visited my pal Kevin in Oxford which was a very distinguished outing. Starting to think about Christmas, feeling VERY creative at the moment. All good.

Here's what you came for, let’s get this guy in front of a crowd .

Good News

A new segment to E-Mail is Good News, which will cover good news I find, or good news from my life! It's all good. The good news I found this week is that Fruits Basket is getting a NEW anime adaptation. If Fruits Basket means nothing to you, it's the name of a VERY popular manga that ran through the late 90's till 2006. Theres already an anime but it differs from the manga. This content made me very happy when I was a teen and I'm ecstatic to see it be reborn.

Song Crush

Song crush this week isn't a new listen for me, but a rediscovery. I first heard the song on an Apple Homepod advert and I was SO hooked. The song wasn't released on Spotify (my music browser) for a while after, but god it's such a good atmospheric song. It's by Anderson Paak, described as having an R&B beat. It's a song that hooked me and I'm looking forward to listening to it even more. Check the full song here

Video Corner

Not much video content to recommend this week, but I managed to rustle up one very niche option and one slightly less niche.

The niche video is...niche. I've mentioned MBMBAM before, and this video is a compilation of all the times the brothers have uttered the word 'boy' over 420 episodes of their podcast thus far. A commenter calculated an average of 1.6 'boys' every episode. So, to sell this to non-MBMBAM listeners, this video has very nice kinetic typography, animation and is a weird but valid gateway to the brothers. Watch here!

The more acceptable video option #2 is a Sims challenge video. My simer of choice is Deligracy, an Aussie youtuber who doesn't take herself too seriously and has a passion for Sims. Challenge videos are really easy to watch and I love a bit of Sims content. Watch here!

Reviews

So, I like a good sandwich. I eat sandwiches frequently, especially as I work in a Cafe. I also like Christmas, and by like I mean love. I love the holiday, I love the festivities and the music. I also appreciate the gimics, and boys, have we got a gimic. CHRISTMAS SANDWICHES. I'm a pescetarian, so normally finding fun sandwiches is hard but I do get lucky sometimes. Before I review I think I need to explain the premise of M&S to the non-UK readers. Marks and Sparks, Marks and Spencer, Mmm & yeS, is a retail? shop? that does clothes for the middle class, homeware for the middle class, and food for the middle-class. THE FOOD IS EXCELLENT. This brie and grape sandwich was great, very middle-class. M&S are donating 5% from every purchase to Shelter which is pretty neat.

It made me think though, why are there not more holiday-themed sandwiches? I'm talking Halloween, Easter, Valentines day. The basic 3. Pumpkin wraps? Quail egg mayo? Chocolate...something? Fuck this newsletter, I'm going to be a sandwich developer.

Tweets of The Week

I tweeted about this segment and how HARD I was finding picking just one tweet this week, as the week on twitter has been incredible. Utterly incredible. I got half way through my likes and I had already gathered 10 potential tweets so I had to cut it off.

Lin-Manuel Miranda has been on FIRE this week, tweeting such good stuff. He's so positive and dreamy. Follow this man.
I love twitter, but I probably love it too much and should take a break from it.... here's the cream of the crop!

Anyway, go and read some good tweets lads.

Bye!
